Prevalence of House Fires
House fires are a large cause of death within the country. When it comes to house fires, they are incredibly difficult to escape from, as there are several things that can slow someone down while escaping. Whether it is falling debris, smoke inhalation, or the fire itself, escaping from a burning house is very difficult, and dangerous.
Therefore, it is incredibly important for the use of smoke alarms, and fire preventive measures. This is especially useful at night, when everyone in the house is asleep. However, there are many people that do not have working smoke alarms within their home, which can be absolutely devastating if there were to be a fire. Unfortunately, tragedy struck in Jeannette, Pennsylvania.
Tragedy in Pennsylvania
Unfortunately, there was a tragedy that took place in Jeannette, Pennsylvania. Tragedies of this nature are unbeknownst in Jeannette, which is why this truly devastated the entire state. There was a terrible house fire that had taken place.
It claimed the lives of 5 people, which included 4 young children. “The victims were: a 1-month-old girl, Korbyn John; a 3-year-old boy, Keagan John; a 6-year-old girl, Kinzleigh John; a 7-year-old boy, Kyson John; and a 27-year-old man, Tyler King, the Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office said,” according to ABC News.

Furthermore, there was also a point in time where firefighters did respond to the fire. However, they ran out of water to eradicate the fire. When this occurred, the fire had already fully evolved, and firefighters were forced to pull their men out of the house to avoid further injuries.
The Future of This Incident
It is very important to ensure potential fire-causing elements are off completely before leaving the house or sleeping. That way, things of this nature are avoided, and loved ones kept safe. It is also important to have smoke alarms and life-saving measures in case something does occur.
Furthermore, there will be schools within the area of Jeannette, that will offer counseling services for students, teachers and parents. Additionally, the cause of the fire is still unknown, and it is unclear if the cause will be made clear within the near future
