Cruise Ship Gone Wrong
A cruise ship is supposed to be a time where families can enjoy their time away from the house. It is not supposed to be a time where families have to worry for their safety. Additionally, it is also not a time where they ponder whether or not they will make it home. What was supposed to be a cruise ship to enjoy and explore the outdoors, took a drastic 360 within a matter of hours.
There were 8 Americans that were enjoying a cruise ship. However, they were to later be stuck on an island without any way of getting back home. After hearing the stories that the victims had to tell, this left many people incredibly outraged.
Victims’ Testimonies
The victims were dismayed by the way “Norwegian Cruise Line,” the company owning the ship, managed the situation, indicating a lack of concern for their clientele.
An 80-year-old American woman was reportedly ‘left to die’ after being removed from the cruise following a stroke and a possible heart attack. Her family was devastated by the treatment she received, believing that more should have been done to ensure her well-being. Additionally, a medical facility on the island misdiagnosed her condition, which could have been life-threatening. Fortunately, she was able to return home and receive the necessary care.

Furthermore, there were 8 people that had to experience the same misfortune. 6 Americans and 2 Australians were left on this same island after “their tour guide-led excursion ran late, and the ship’s captain wouldn’t let them board,” according to Fox News. In addition, these are people that were denied entry to the ship, just for being a tad late. Furthermore, there was a guide that was leading this excursion. Therefore, it is not necessarily on the people that were a part of this tour.
The Future of This Incident
The handling of these incidents by Norwegian Cruise Line is astonishing. Families would have expected some form of compensation for their ordeal. However, they have received nothing, and it remains uncertain whether they will receive any recompense for their suffering. Furthermore, there is a hope that Norwegian Cruise Line is able to recognize the wrong they have committed and attempt to make it right any way they can.
