Disney released a new trailer for “The Book of Boba Fett,” which will be released on Disney+ on Dec. 29, 2021. The trailer reveals new casting and has fans theorizing over who the villain could be.
The series was first teased in “The Mandalorian” Season 2 finale that premiered in December 2020. The spin-off follows the fan-favorite Boba Fett, played by Temuera Morrison, and actress Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand. In a post-credit scene, Fett and Shand are seen taking over Jabba the Hutt’s throne.
In the new trailer, Fett can be seen reassuring his new subjects’ commanders that he will rule out of respect instead of fear. Audiences will get to see a new Tatooine under Fett as he tries his hand as a leader.

Disney is set to follow up its smash hit show “The Mandalorian” with multiple spin-offs. Ahsoka and Obi-Wan Kenobi are other fan-favorites to get their own shows in the coming years following the release of “The Book of Boba Fett.”
“The Book of Boba Fett,” producers confirmed “The L Word” actress Jennifer Beals will join Morrison and Wen in the sci-fi, action TV series.
The trailer was released on Nov. 1, 2021. Some fans claimed to have spotted the actress in the trailer for a split second. Beales tweeted her excitement in joining the franchise, commenting, “so honoured to be a part of the #StarWars family.”
On a Need-to-Know Basis
Beals will play a Twi’lek character, but specifics beyond that have been kept secret, according to Digital Spy. Most aspects of Disney projects are kept this way, even with the actors in them.
Wen recently explained that even the contracts are under different names for secrecy. “We’re so secretive about everything,” she says. At first, she did not know she was working on an entirely different show from “The Mandalorian.” However, she told Digital Spy that even “The show is under different names,” so she assumed it was the next season since no name was specified.
