As the count down to the last day for the United States Census’s data collection approaches, people are wondering if it can be done.
In August 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau announced they were going to stop gathering data on Sept. 30, 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic delayed the census gathering just slightly.
However to offset the viruses presents the bureau started a website to help gather the needed information. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross has stated that he feels the bureau will be successful in their mission.
Every decade the U.S. Census collects data about the people living in its nation or its five territories. This data is used to help boost economic growth in poorer cities and states.
The data obtained by the Census Bureau is confidential. They can not share any personal information contained within the documents. The Census Bureau then sends the final tallied data to the appropriate places.
These places then use the data given to the to properly access communities. Then appropriate funding is send to the communities that are in need.
This funding is then used to care for school systems, hospitals and other organizations that help people in need. Having an accurate count means that more funding for these areas.
