It is the start of the Girl Scouts Annual Cookie Campaign and there is more than one way to obtain these cookies for 2022. The program was jump-started on January 11.
Two New Surprises!
Two new goodies have been introduced to the lineup of Girl Scout cookie favorites. The first new member of the is a brownie-based cookie with caramel salted butter crème in the middle and dipped in fudge icing. Other familiar favorites include Tagalongs, Thin Mints, Samoas, and Do-Si-Does. This new cookie is called Adventurefuls. Toast-Yays are also being added to the cookie lineup. They are “French toast-inspired cookies with cinnamon icing.” Just like the other favorites, they are $5 a box.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches young ladies business, leadership, and life skills. This year, the campaign plans to donate cookies to first responders and recipients of Meals on Wheels.
Purchasing Options
As usual, cookies are being sold through Girl Scouts of America, however, there are no-contact ways to purchase these yummy goodies. For those who do not know a Girl Scout, they can go to gsnypenn.org/cookies22 and find a local chapter. Additionally, beginning on February 18, there will be a Girl Scout cookie app available.
The new app will allow people to search for places selling the goodies within their own zip code and see it on their GPS.
The consumers using the app will also be able to see the Sell-by Date and the map where the cookie booths are located. Additionally, consumers can go to gsneo.org/findcookies or call 1-888-9-thinmint for ordering options.
This year, the Campaign introduced a new way to order these goodies — DoorDash. This service will be starting in January and is expected to expand throughout February. Consumers may also text COOKIES to 59618 or on February 18, those who wish to purchase Girl Scout cookies can put their zip code into the Cookie Finder to find the nearest booth.
These delicious snacks will be available on January 12. This is the founding day of the Girl Scouts of America Movement that began 110 years ago. Consumers with be available to purchase these annual goodies through March 27.
