This morning, police were called to Belton High School because of a stabbing. The school was on lockdown and the incident had been contained. Police are coordinating with the school and parents to form a reunification plan. The investigation is currently active. There are reports from Fox44 that a suspect has been taken into custody.
In a live video on Facebook, officers can still be seen at the school investigating. The scene is still an active investigation but officers seem relaxed and casual. Currently, school buses are arriving to reunify students with their parents after this traumatic stabbing incident.

Parents arriving on the scene are being identified before they are able to pick up students. All students are being dismissed early and have to sign a paper before leaving with an appropriate adult to be sure they remain safe.
Buses are picking students up at Tiger Field.
There has been no word on the condition of the person who was stabbed. There will be a press conference on the incident shortly.
