On Tuesday, a black bear was seen in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. It was also spotted by the Chopper 6 helicopter at 11:30 a.m. by the Marple Avenue bridge and Baltimore Avenue. It seemed the large animal was traveling down Darby Creek. The Pennsylvania Gaming Commission is developing a plan to contain the bear, according to the Upper Darby Police Department.
Students and faculty at Charles Kelly School were told to remain inside because the black bear was close by. Police warn that people should avoid the area until the animal is contained. Anyone who encounters the animal should keep their distance.
At 12:30 p.m. the large animal was seen relaxing in the woods. Police and the gaming commission are still looking for the wild animal.

This afternoon, officials in Delaware County requested assistance from NBC10’s Skyforce10 in locating the black bear. The helicopter spotted the black bear on its back in the woods in the Lansdowne area.
At this time, there is no word on how the police and gaming commission plan to contain the wild animal now that it is in a wooded area.
Police and officials are urging people to avoid the area and requesting anyone who encounters the animal to keep their distance and call 911. Additionally, officials are reminding people it is not safe to feed or approach wild animals.
