Apple gave out a new software update for iPads and iPhones. The new update is iPadOS 15.5 and iOS 15.5. All compatible devices should have access to the update now. Here is what can be expected of the update.

The company’s release notes say that the update has three main differences to expect on iPad and iPhone devices.

The first upgrade is for iPhones. People that update will find that the Wallet now allows requesting and sending money from the Apple Cash card. This is a good extension to the Apply Pay feature on iMessage, according to Life Hacker. Also, people should have the ability to view how much they have on their Cash card in the Wallet application.

Secondly, Apple Podcasts got the next update. The company added an additional setting in the upgrade that limits the amount of episodes saved on the devices. It also deletes older episodes automatically. People have said that this update should have happened sooner and is a necessity. The last redesign of Apple Podcasts made setting scrambling too common. This problem resulted in many episodes saving to devices and hard drives were filling up quickly. Also, data management was nearly impossible, according to Life Hacker.

Lastly, an iPhone bug solution was made with the new update. The issue was with the home automation. It was failing when set off by individuals coming and going. Entering and exiting residences is a huge sell for automation setup. This is because it can allow people to adjust things automatically such as home security, lighting, and air conditioning.

Apple Update iOS 16 and iPadOS 16

The iOS15.5 update is considered minor. Apple is scheduled to announce another upgrade next month during the WWDC event. This update is iPadOS 16 and iOS 16. It will consist of large changes to devices.

Compatible devices for both updates consist of the

  • iPhone 6S and newer models.
  • iPad Pro Mini 4 and up.
  • Fifth-generation iPad and up.
  • First-generation iPad Pro 12.9-inch and up.
  • iPad Air 2 and up.
  • Seventh-generation iPod touch.
  • iPad Pro 9.7-inch.
  • First-generation iPad Pro 11-inch and up.

To run the update, follow these steps:

  1. Go to settings.
  2. General.
  3. Software update.
  4. Wait for iPadOS or iOS to find the new update.
  5. Follow instructions on the screen to install iOS 15.5.

Apple macOS Monterey 12.4 Update

Some of the updated features might not be usable in certain regions or on some devices. People can see the Apple support website for information about security content.

Along with the iOS update, Apple also released a macOS update, Monterey 12.4. This update created the macOS version to fix Apple’s Studio Display’s poor quilty with the webcam. Testing with the beta update discovered that the performance of the webcam is not yet at its peak performance. However, it does minimize the image’s amount of visible noise, boosts the accuracy of color, and improves contrast. Retests will be conducted again as the update is final, according to the verge.
