It seems that more and more people are beginning not to like AI. Before getting into why some people dislike AI so much, let’s talk about what AI is. AI or (Artificial Intelligence) is a way for developers to use and collect analytical data to perform tasks that would usually be done manually by human hands. The developers of AI usually use the software to reach out to customers, identify patterns, and solve problems.
Most developers of AI are usually good at mathematics and are usually good or comfortable with algorithms. The intention for AI was that it was built to be fast learning, capable of receiving and interpreting the world at a faster pace than humans. The capabilities of AI can help people’s organizations in many ways two of those ways include providing an understanding of the surplus amount of data on hand and relying on predictions to generate complex or mundane tasks.
Uses of AI and Its Benefits
Its uses are improving the enterprise industry by boosting its performance and productivity. The functionality of AI is doing so by automating processes or tasks that once required a human to operate. AI is also increasing productivity on a scale that no human would be able to do alone.
A lot of companies are beginning to make data science a priority and are putting more investments into the field. A 2021 McKinsey survey done on AI, discovered that companies that incorporate at least one of their processes, increased productivity to 56 percent, from a standing point of 50 percent a year earlier. In another example, Netflix uses machine learning to provide personalization for customers that use it, which in turn helped the company grow its customer base by an increase of 25 percent.
If people don’t know, machine learning is the use and development of computer systems that are able to learn and adapt without following explicit instructions, by using algorithms and statistical models to analyze and draw inferences from patterns in data. The uses of AI have great value for almost every type of business and industry. Some of the applications of AI include but aren’t limited to:
- Using transactional and demographic data to predict customer’s relationship time with a business (or lifetime customer value)
- configuring pricing based on customer spending behavior and preference
- Using image recognition to analyze X-ray images for signs of cancer
Artists’ attack on AI
So let’s explain why people dislike AI as of means of AI art. AI is beginning to take over the IP legislation for artists.
And there have been two major headlines about recent court filings one in the U.S. and one in the U.K. So far these filings have been about how a force of anxiety is rising about the rights that AI holds over their creative output. A number of artists’ rights have been taken advantage of.
The reason for that being is to train the AI image generators to produce derivative forms of their creative works. The artists or claimants allege that these AI art companies have violated the Unfair Competition Act, by infringing on a numerous amount of legislation covering exclusive rights in copyrighted works including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
