Some of the talents that I bring to the table are music editing skills. I know that I’ve mentioned before that I have a passion for music and that I love the art. A lot of the time I use FL Studio mobile.
However, I do have a little practice under my belt in the bigger version of the program (FL Studio). It’s very easy to use these programs but I feel like other people may see it as a challenge because the software is so vast. I kind of enjoy the complexity of the programs that I use to make music even though I know that they are probably the easiest for me to use ( in my opinion).
“Mixing” of my talents and skills
I haven’t really used too many other DAWs or digital audio stations because I started out making music at the very early age of 14. At first, I wanted to be a disc jockey or DJ. So I found this app on the google play store called “edjing mix” and it’s a free app that has in-app purchases for extra sound effects and songs that you can mix.
It’s a really cool app and I enjoy it however I felt that this app was a little too hard for me to work with. The app itself teaches you how to use use the app to create your own DJ mixes. But for me, I still couldn’t find my way around it.
Finding the perfect mix
However, I do understand that practice makes perfect and I am willing to put in the work necessary to learn the program. I know that if I put in the work to learn the program it will give me better opportunities to network myself. I’m not too good at making raps or singing but once again “practice makes perfect” and practice is what I need to advance my skills.
If I combine all those skills of producing, mixing, singing, and rapping, I will be more than just a triple threat, but a quadruple threat. Besides my abilities in music production, I am very good at other forms of art such as creative writing, artwork such as graphic designs, and sketches. Some other talents or technical skills that I possess are great communication, planning, scheduling, organizational skills, and leadership skills.
Back to the basic skills
However, I am not so perfect, and I must admit that one thing that I must work on is my time management skills. Sometimes I find myself a little behind on time but for the most part, I need to work on showing up for work on time and being ready to be productive. I have, however, been showing up to work early by at least an hour so that way I can get a gist of what we will be working on that day.

One other thing about me is that when I show up 30 minutes to an hour late, I make sure to stay an equivalent amount of time to make up for time lost (or until they tell me I have to leave). I have also worked in two of the world’s leading postal services, that being UPS and FedEx. While I was working there I picked up a little bit of muscle and learned how to pick up heavier objects, and the importance of teamwork.
Putting it all together
I feel like these talents and skills will come in handy when working here at TNS when we have to move larger set items off the set and set them up for recording events. Also, it would be a good skill to have when holding and carrying the cameras when shooting footage. Some of these cameras have a considerable amount of weight to them and holding them up while recording without a tripod may pose a challenge.
I may bring a few talents to the table but I hope to gain even more skills and talents throughout my career here at The News Schools.
