Chicago Police and FBI are searching for the suspect of an armed robbery. The incident occurred within a Fifth Third Bank on South Wacker Drive in Downtown Chicago.
According to police reports the police responded to armed robbery reports just before 3 p.m. Thursday, March 9.
At the time, a security guard of the bank confronts the man. The confrontation led to the robber firing his gun multiple times. The security guard reacted by withdrawing their own weapon to fire back, which led to the guard suffering a graze from the bullet.
While fleeing, money flew behind the man in his effort to escape.
Robbery Witness Accounts

One of these witnesses is a man who at the time of the shooting, worked in a building directly next to the Fith Third Bank. Dominik Modrzejewski, one of the witnesses who identified the man and recorded part of the event, worked next door.
““Went over to the window and clearly saw a figure kind of running out shooting at the door, glass breaking and I started recording and I caught the tail end of him running and cash flying everywhere,” Modrzejewski stated.
Some witnesses, upon hearing gunshots found cover behind nearby trashcans. Those that worked close by described how they could hear gunshots from the floor below them.
The 59-year-old security guard is not seriously hurt. In addition, the commotion at the scene led to police shutting the Oglive Transportation Center in search of a man that meets the suspect’s identification.
Officials are currently looking for a man who is approximately 5 feet and 7 inches. Currently, identifiable as wearing a black hooded jacket, white mask, winter gloves, and blue jeans. The FBI has publicized a picture of the suspect in hopes that he can be identified.
