What Is Lollapalooza?
Lollapalooza is an American four-day festival to celebrate music. Artists around the US will come to celebrate and share their music with everyone. This event has been taking place since the 90s and still continues today. It first started as a tourist event but later on, it settled only to be made in Chicago. It was made by Jane’s Addiction leader Perry Farrell. He had previously said that he chose this name because it means “extraordinarily impressive” which is what he believes this event to be.
This event, however, was not as successful as it is today. In 1998 the tour was canceled due to the fact that they kept losing money. It was then brought back in 2003 but it still continued to have the financial struggle as before and was later canceled in 2004. Even so, they decided to give it a third chance in 2005. This is when they decided to abandon the touring mode and settled in Chicago. It was decided to make this a two-day event and it was a big success. They made it a three-day event in 2006. After this, it became an annual event in the city of Chicago. It was not until 2016 that Lollapalooza became a four-day event and still is today.
What Will It Include?

This year’s event tickets have been available for pre-sale online since March. The event will take place in Grant Park Chicago from August third through August sixth. The four-day tickets for general admission start at $365. one-day tickets will be available on a later day. There will also be premium tickets being sold which include four-day GA+ tickets. These include two GA+ lounges, it includes a full-service bar and expedited entry to the event. These tickets start at $675. There are also four-day VIP tickets and Platinum tickets. VIP start at $1,500 and Platinum starts at $4,350. Lollapalooza will have many performers which are Noah Kahan, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, J.I.D., Maggie Rogers, Carly Rae Jepsen, Diplo, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and many more. The day-to-day performances and artists lists are available since March.
If it was not something you have figured out by now, Lollapalooza is an adult-only event, meaning only people that are 18 years old or older can come. However, this year another thing that this event will bring to the table is Kidzapalooza. This is a more family-friendly event with PG content and music for children to enjoy. The music will be significantly lowered to where it is not harmful to children’s ears. There will be music, food, and workshops for kids to have fun as well.
Add To Bucket List
Lollapalooza is definitely the type of activity people should see and experience once in their life. If you love raves this is the event for you. It is an event that could be considered budget-friendly to many. But if you wish to have the best experience, be sure to save up a couple of thousands for the VIP or Platinum tickets. Even if you are not really a fan of some of their artists, this is a surreal event that everyone should enjoy so be sure to add this to this year’s to-do list.
