San Francisco police have arrested Nima Momeni, 38, on murder charges. He is accused of stabbing Cash App founder Bob Lee. The arrest was announced during a press conference held by the police department and district attorney (DA) Brooke Jenkins.
The San Fransico Police Department (SFPD) and DA stated they have evidence that shows Momeni knew Lee. Furthermore, their evidence suggests that the Cash App founder and the Chief Product Officer of MobileCoin death was not a random crime.
Lee’s Death
On April 4, Lee was stabbed causing him to die. The attack happened in San Francisco’s neighborhood of Rincon Hill. Video surveillance of the incident shows Lee holding his side with his other hand gripping his cell phone. Additionally, he left a trail of blood in his wake.
Lee strumbled down Main Street after he was stabbed, according to images obtained by Daily Mail. Before tumbling to the ground, Lee attempted to use the call box outside of the Portside apartment building.
Moreover, he suffered from two stab wounds to his upper left chest, according to sources. Notably, ten seconds after tumbling to the ground, Lee stood and walked towards a police car. Unfortunately, he passed away at the scene.
Momeni’s Neighbor
Additionally, Momeni lived and worked in Emeryville. People have stated he is a tech entrepreneur as well. The police called over the bullhorn telling Momeni to put his hands up. This loudness woke the suspect’s neighbors. Moreover, nearby residents stated the murder suspect was friendly toward everyone in the complex.
The neighbors were shocked to hear he has been accused of murdering Lee. Furthermore, some are hoping the police are wrong and he hadn’t actually done the heinous crime.
After Lee’s Death
After Lee died many tech executives made false claims saying the violent crime in San Francisco was horrific. They claimed the streets were unsafe. The truth is that San Francisco is at the bottom of the list with 6.9 homicides per 100,000 people.
