What Occurred Before This Accident?
What was supposed to be a perfectly normal day turned out to be an incredibly devastating one. A bus was traveling to school with 16 special needs children on it when suddenly it collided with another vehicle. An SUV was going in the wrong direction when it smashed into the school bus. It seemed there was not enough time to react before the accident had actually occurred, and unfortunately, it turned everyone’s day upside down.
The Accident Itself
Since the SUV was heading in the wrong direction, and the bus was heading northbound, they collided head-on. The accident occurred around 10 a.m. this morning. It is also true that the driver of the SUV had a couple of citations written for them. Furthermore, the SUV operator was driving on a revoked license.
Although there are not many details that have been revealed about this incident, it can be said with certainty that this driver should not have been driving whatsoever, especially with a revoked license and an uninsured vehicle.
Injuries Associated with this Crash
Thankfully, none of the children on the bus were seriously hurt whatsoever. However, the drivers of the two vehicles were left in terrible condition.
The bus driver and operator of the SUV involved were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious-to-critical condition. While there is little information at this time, there is hope that the drivers come out alright from this accident.
However, the children are certainly going to be scared, as this was incredibly scary for them to have to go through. In fact, it is scary for anyone to go through this type of situation. There is a hope that these children and drivers can heal both mentally and physically after this terrible accident.
