What We Understand of Disney and Disney+
Disney is a great way to get the family together, especially on a weekend. It is a way for children to stay engaged, and for them to have fun. Watching it made a lot of people’s childhoods, and as they grow up, they look back and reminisce on what it was like in the past. Disney was typically reserved only for movies that were made by them, and therefore there were not many. However, it kept children and parents alike just as engaged. They have announced that they plan to make a change to the experience that Disney+ has to offer, and drastically as well. However, this could be beneficial, as the fan base can grow exponentially because of what they are doing.
What Exactly is Disney Going to Do?
Disney is planning on expanding their content for viewers across the nation and the globe. “Disney said Wednesday it would add Hulu content to its Disney+ streaming app, while also announcing it would raise the price of its ad-free streaming service later this year,” according to CNBC News.
As aforementioned, along with this change that they are doing to their app, the price will also be increasing. This could even be out, although some may be upset that the price is increasing for a service that they may not even use. There may be some people that may only want to use Disney+ to watch Disney movies. They may not like the change that they are doing to their application.
Are They Receiving Services from Other Companies?
Disney plans on having services from Comcast to help with their overall plan. This can be a little costly, and the time in which people live may not be a great time for contracts of this magnitude to be signed. However, they still plan on receiving the services, despite the cost being so high.
“At the time of the agreement, both companies agreed that Hulu would have a minimum valuation of $27 billion, making Comcast’s stake worth at least $9 billion,” according to The Verge. Both companies are talking about large stakes. Therefore, it can be detrimental depending on the economic state of the nation.

What Is Disney Planning on Doing To Achieve This Change?
In order to achieve a change of such a large magnitude, they plan on removing certain content from their streaming devices. Although this can be beneficial for them, it may make certain consumers upset since the content is being removed. It will remove certain content from its streaming services as it looks to improve profitability. Disney expects to take a write-down in its fiscal Q3 of $1.5 billion-$1.8 billion by removing the content. McCarthy said.
Therefore, there is a margin for profitability that they will certainly take advantage of. Even if it means that certain content will be deleted. This will also be beneficial in the long run. Having Hulu content will not only make them more profitable but will also satisfy millions of consumers around the globe.
The Future of Disney and Disney+
Clearly, they have big plans, and by the end of this year, they will have made a huge change in their programming. Even though there are people that may not agree with this change, there is an even bigger majority that will support this. Even though the economy is not doing its best at the current time, Disney will do anything in their power to achieve the funds needed. Therefore, this plan will become a reality.
