On Trump Associates, a new social media platform, Truth Social, he announces a new development with the law.
Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment.
The letter Trump mentions is a “target” letter informing him that he will soon have to face a court for possible violations of the law. Including but not limited to:
- Conspiring to commit an offense against or defraud the U.S.
- Tapering with witnesses.
- And deprivation of rights.
The letter makes it clear that this investigation is based on Trump’s previous efforts to overturn the 2020 election against Joe Biden and the incited Capitol riot on January 6th.
Trumps Legality Issues Mount
Trump’s legal team is battling numerous trials against him during his seat in the presidency – not all of them pertaining to his misuse of “constitutional duty”.
Most of the cases set against him fall under three categories: financial wrongdoings, including providing hush money, the January 6, 2021 insurrection; and interference with the 2020 election.
However, as the trials draw closer and closer, Trump’s campaign for re-election faces uncertainty as he will have to be physically present for his court dates. This will cause him to be absent from his campaign for weeks at a time.
To combat the requirements to attend court, Trump and his legal team tried a tactic to give him leeway by arguing for immunity due to his position in Presidency at the time.

Trump will attend a state trial on January 15 for his actions in defaming journalist E. Jean Carrol for her previous trial against him for sexual assault. On January 29th, another trial will begin on the lawsuit accusing Trump, his company, and his three children, of enticing otherwise vulnerable people to invest in scams by using their reputable company name.
Sex Accusations
However, because those are civil cases, Trump has the option to not attend the trial. But that is not the case with his trial for falsifying official documents. In the Judge’s words, a case where Trump paid hush money to cover up a sex scandal does not relate to presidential official acts.
Reimbursing Cohen for advancing hush money to Stephanie Clifford cannot be considered the performance of a constitutional duty. Falsifying business records to hide such reimbursement, and to transform the reimbursement into a business expense for Trump and income to Cohen, likewise does not relate to a presidential duty. Trump is not immune from the People’s prosecution in New York Supreme Court.
Rape allegations similar to Carroll’s made their appearance around the time a video leaked of Trump making vulgar comments about women with television personality Billy Bush. In the video, he relents that “as a star you can do it. They let you do anything” when he describes immediately groping and kissing married women without asking.
The video aligns with many testimonies of sexual misconduct. Some appeared shortly before the video was released and some allegations were announced after.
