Danelo Cavalcante on the Run!
Danelo Cavalcante, who was convicted in August, has now been on the run for a week after escaping Chester County Prison in Pennsylvania. The method he used to escape is similar to another inmate who escaped from the same prison back in May. He got away from a search border that planned to catch him in.
Cavalcante was caught on a trail camera twice on Monday in Longwood Gardens. Heading north and returning back south being likely that he lost something on the way and traced back to get it. In the pictures, the fugitive had on a backpack, duffel bag, and a hoodie.
Danelo Cavalcante’s Trial to Break In
The unbelievable happened next. A southeastern Pennsylvanian, Ryan Drummond, came into contact with the fugitive inside his own home. Cavalcante got inside his home through an unlocked door. Drummond heard noise from his kitchen and called 9-1-1. This happened when the light switch turned on. The fugitive stole a baseball cap as he left out of the house.
Two school districts in Pennsylvania have shut down due to the unsettling situation. It’s possible that Cavalcante may be a threat to the children who have to attend school.
The Mother’s Efforts
The manhunt continues to cultivate as days go by without any trace of Cavalcante. Families are still being cautious of their area because of the threat he holds within him. Cavalcante’s mother is now providing support in the hunt for her own son.
She recorded a message wanting her son to surrender to the investigators peacefully. The recording was then played from helicopters and vehicles in the exploration area. She did the message in her native language.
Danelo’s History

Danelo Cavalcante is wanted for a murder in Brazil that took place in 2017. Later in 2021, he would commit the murder that would have him convicted in the United States.
Deborah Brandão, his ex-girlfriend, was outside her house with her two kids when her life came to a sudden end. Cavalcante arrived unexpectedly grabbing Brandão by her hair and threw her to the ground.
Using a knife, he punctured her 38 times in every vital organ causing her to bleed to death. He was arrested later in Virginia. Cavalcante might have wanted to escape to Mexico with the expectations of later return back to Brazil.
How Did he Escape?
On Thursday, August 31, at an institution in Pocopson Township, Cavalcante successfully escaped. He headed towards an entrance placing his hands and feet on opposite sides of the wall gaining balance. Furthermore, he climbed up to the top of the roof and proceeded to escape from there. The guards weren’t able to see the escape process.
The guards who were in the building at that time are now on directional leave. Additionally, new guards were added to areas that Cavalcante weren’t seen in. This will also keep the recreation yard properly secured. The prison wants to make sure another flee like this one never happens again, ever.
