22 Years After 9/11
Americans rewind back today to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center. People who lost loved ones that day or experienced it still have it hard twenty-two years later, the PTSD and trauma still gets to them. It makes it harder for them to move on and push forward.
The Memorial
The 9/11 ceremony was held today in lower Manhattan. Vice President Kamala Harris arrived at the ceremony as the relatives of people who died that day honored their names. Other ceremonies were held at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. President Joe Biden missed the ceremonies and is the first president to miss a 9/11 memorial service. People thanked and showed respect to first time responders, the Military, and the Navy Seals who killed Osama Bin Laden. The ruthless Osama Bin laden was the leader of Al-Qaeda and the man behind 9/11.
What went down on 9/11

Suicidal terroristic Islamic attacks went into play on the Pentagon in Washington and the North and South Tower of the World Trade Center. Both the North and South Tower collapsed in an hour and fourty-one minutes. Each Plane hijacked, was supposed to arrive in California. The fourth plane, Flight 93, crashed into a field in Shanksville. Three-thousand people were killed in the attacks. Passengers on each plane tried to retaliate by busting open the cockpit door but their efforts weren’t successful. The United States then declared war on Afghanistan. They suspected that Al-Qaeda was behind the terrorist attack.
The War on Afghanistan
The United States and their allied forces wanted Al-Qaeda to hand over their leader Osama Bin Laden but they refused. On October 7, 2001, the war on Afghanistan would begin. U.S. and British forces bombed Taliban and Al-Qaeda camps from the sky. Ground Troops took over Afghanistan in search of Osama Bin Laden but he hid and fled across the Pakistani Border, he remained unseen for ten years. On May 2, 2011, Bin Laden was shot and killed by a U.S. operation ordered by President Barrack Obama.
He lived in his compound for five years before his death. He was still giving out orders despite being unseen for the last remaining years of his life. The Navy Seals were on the raid and it took 40 minutes in total. This operation ended a decennium hunt for Bin Laden and brought justice for the attacks on September 11, 2001. Al-Qaeda wanted revenge on America for the death of their leader vowing to launch more attacks. America never forgets the day of September 11, 2001, as it is the day the country took a saddening loss but the journey of overcoming isn’t over.
