Halloween is right around the corner and with that McDonald’s is bring back their Boo Buckets. The collection of buckets were made available on Tuesday Oct. 17, 2023. The Chicago-based chain mentioned the buckets will be available “while supplies last.” Additionally, the last time the Boo Buckets were featured at McDonald’s was back in 2016.

However, after six years in 2022 the Boo Buckets made a reappearance and now in 2023 they are back once again with an additional new bucket. Furthermore, Boo Buckets were first made available in McDonald’s back in 1986 and since then the availability of this item in the restaurant has been irregular.

Now that this item is back again for the 2023 spooky season children will have four different types of buckets to choose from. For example, children will have access to the monster, skeleton, mummy, and vampire designs.

The buckets will also come in four different colors, their will be the white, orange, green, and the recently added purple vampire bucket. On top of that the Boo Buckets will have one additional fun surprised for children to discover. The Boo Buckets will have a paperboard lid with a fun sticker activity for children to enjoy.

Most Love Happy Meal Through The Years

McDonald’s has had a 30 plus legacy throughout the years with their Boo Bucket collections. The original came in the same orange color, but had different face expressions. After in 1990 the first glow-in-the-dark Boo Buckets debuted, along with new designs and colors. For example, their was the lime green witch and the white ghost.

Furthermore, in 1992 the buckets underwent another design change, which included updated face with and interesting cookie-cutter lid. This 1992 design was featured by McDonald’s for more than a decade. In 2010 the Boo Buckets started to display additional collaborations with different characters.

For example,  Mr. Potato Head and friends were spotted on a Boo Bucket. Their was also collaborations with “Peanuts,” “Monster High,” and other characters geared toward young collectors. After the buckets came back in 2022 the design shifted once again to a more traditionally look and now in 2023 they are expected to have the same traditionally look with a bit more ornate handle.

How to Obtain Your Own Bucket

The easiest way to get your hands on this spooky season Boo Buckets is to make a stop at your nearest McDonald’s and order a happy meal. Either by placing an order at the restaurant or through the app it does not matter what option you choose.

The happy meal box will be replaced with one of these Boo Buckets and it will also come with three different entrees. The options are a cheeseburger, hamburger and 4-piece or 6-piece Chicken McNuggets meals; each come with a side of fries or apple slices and a drink.

Moreover, the price of the Boo Buckets will be determined by the restaurant and the location of the place. However, Happy Meals typically go from $4 to $7 and Boo Buckets are expected to be the same. Lastly, there is no extra charge for this item as the Boo Bucket will be replacing the toy that goes inside the Happy Meal.
