About what occurred in Kentucky
On the night of October 31, an incident occurred in a Kentucky coal plant as the building collapsed and one male was confirmed dead. There were two men who had the task of demolishing the plant and the building fell differently than what the men had believed. After this, the falling concrete and metal killed a man, leaving the other trapped under all the rubble.
After the whole situation went down at 6:20 p.m. Kentucky officers were called and dispatched and arrived at the scene at 6:40 p.m. When the Martin County Sheriff’s officers reached the coal preparation plant, they were stunned to see the ten-story building collapse on the ground.
Also, the coal preparation plant was out of commission for multiple years, according to Marin County Sheriff John Kirk. Additionally, he stated, “What I know about the plant is that the company that owned it sold it. They just wanted to get however money they could get.”
Afterward, he said that his understanding of the situation was that both workers were on the bottom floor. As the building started falling down, the rubble actually closed them in.
But all the danger isn’t just carried by the workers who got surrounded by rubble. The teams that were sent out are also at an enormous risk. Due to all the concrete and steel all over the ground, it is just a very tight space. Additionally, the pressure is high for the rescuers as they can’t work faster or really do more, as the situation is a slow one.
One of the agencies that responded to the issue was the National Guard Special Tactics Squadron K-9 search dog unit. The other was the Pikeville Fire Department.

Additionally, we are sending rescue teams to help the two men who are stuck indie the rubble. Also, for now, I ask everyone to pray for the men and their families just as I am.”
Furthermore, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, also said on X, “There are two workers trapped. And we have sent several teams that are working on a rescue plan and execution for these men.” Afterward, he added, “Everyone in Kentucky, please pray with me for the safety of these men and the bold teams who were sent to help.
