Who is Rahm Emanuel?
Rahm Emanuel was once the mayor of Chicago, and also the chief of staff for former President Barack Obama, and he was widely known across the nation. There were many who appreciated the work that he put into Chicago. Additionally, there were many others that were not in favor of what he was doing in office at the time of being the mayor. However, many can still come to the consensus that what happened to his vacation home was something completely unnecessary and bigoted, and should be condemned if the perpetrator is caught by law enforcement.
What Happened to His Vacation Home?
Rahm Emanuel has a vacation home in Michigan, however, it was recently defaced in a truly hateful act. “The fence outside ex-Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s Michigan vacation home was spray-painted with the word “Nazis” last week,” according to Daily Beast News.
Clearly, this was an act of anti-semitism, and is something that is needed to be seen less. Clearly, there is also a lot of anti-semitism that is being shown across the world, with the wars that are ongoing in the Middle East. Therefore, this is something completely unnecessary and should be dealt with accordingly.
How Has Rahm Emanuel Responded?
Rahm Emanuel was told about the incident, and was absolutely disgusted by what he heard. However, the way that this situation was handled, he was completely grateful for. “Our family is very proud of how our friends neighbors and the community have rallied to our support and in a singular voice in condemning hatred and bigotry,” the statement read in part.
Since he made this comment, the graffiti has been removed from the fence it was written on. Anti-semitism is beginning to get higher and higher. More and more people are beginning to target all sorts of political leaders, both current and former.

Anti-semitism Reaching New Heights
There is a new study on anti-semitism that is unfortunately reaching a devastating result. Anti-semitism continues to increase as the time goes by. There are also many threats of terrorism as well, against political leaders.
“Wray further warned of recent failed attempts by Iran-backed terrorist groups to carry out assassinations of “high-ranking current and former US government officials,” according to the New York Post. Therefore, this is starting to become more and more common, and should be addressed. This way, action can be taken to prevent any form of terrorist attack, or anti-semitism from occurring, such as the one that occurred to Rahm Emanuel.
However, this is much easier said than done, as there needs to be a form of collective action.
The Future of Anti-Semitism
Anti-Semitism is an act of pure hatred. It is something that should be dealt with accordingly, no matter if it was said or done. Since it is becoming much more common, acts of the such should be taken seriously, and should be addressed. However, if things of the nature are not dealt with, they could easily escalate into something way worse than it should be. Subsequently, it is certainly something that is going to be difficult to contain, especially because of the wars that are still ongoing in the Middle East. These wars were fueled by bigotry, and are claiming many lives as it continues.
The way that the timeline is going now, it does not seem like Anti-Semitism is going to come to an end anytime soon. That is unfortunate because unity is something that we need in this time. However, this is just an assumption, as nobody knows exactly what the future of this situation will hold.
