Apple As We Know It

Apple continues to amaze people with the technology that they are able to put out into the world. The amount of complexity that these devices hold is astounding. Apple continues to explore the queries of the people that they serve, and they try to adjust what they create to address the concerns that they receive. However, there are times where it is really difficult to adjust to these concerns, and therefore that makes them fall behind even more. There has been a similar situation that has occurred to Apple, and has left them in a bit of a standstill.

What Is A Modem?

Modem’s are apart of every iPhone that has been sold, and are the way in which browsing the web and using carriers are even possible. Therefore, they are trying to create their own version of Qualcomm’s modem, which is what they currently use. However, this task has proven to be a very difficult task. “As a modem is a critical component of any phone, Apple is keen to avoid shipping a faulty product that would tarnish its reputation,” according to ISP Page.

What Has Occurred To Apple?

Apple was trying to achieve a new level, trying to replace the modem that they currently have now on their current iPhones. However, these are a little bit too complex to actually fully replace, and therefore has made Apple struggle way more than they wanted to. “Apple Inc. has fallen further behind in its multibillion-dollar effort to make a modem chip for the iPhone, stymied by the complexity of replacing an intricate Qualcomm Inc. component,” according to Bloomberg News. As aforementioned, they have already had a quota of several billions of dollars to get this project going.

Despite this, it seems that they are still going to try to get this component up and running. However, it is unknown how long it may take for this project to become a reality for Apple iPhone users. Since Apple is known for trying to deliver the best quality items, creating their own modem -and making it work seamlessly- has been a challenging task. “The latest snags reflect the daunting task Apple faces in designing its own modem, which lets phones connect to cellular networks for making calls and browsing the web,” according to Money Control. They also do not want to create a faulty product, and have to conduct a recall on thousands of sold items. That would make this goal even harder than it already is.

Therefore, delays are certainly imminent, even though many consumers are going to be angry because of it.

The Future of This Modem

The future is looking very grim for Apple, especially when it comes to creating this particular modem. However, there may be a sudden breakthrough when it comes to making this chip to be as good as Qualcomms’.

It is unknown if there will be any more delays when it comes to them releasing their own version of this modem. However, there may be a huge chance for a delay to occur, which will certainly anger the entire consumer base.

Many have already been waiting since the iPhone SE for a new modem, yet they have not received one. It is clear that there is a huge demand for this modem change, yet there continue to be delays when it comes to releasing it. It is clear to say that this goal may have been a very stretched out one, but many agree that they will do whatever they can to get this released as soon as possible. The future continues to be unknown for them.
