Apple is always innovating and creating new technology. Especially when it comes to upgrading or adding new features. For example, last year with the iPhone 15 drop, they changed the charging port from the lightning port to type C. Now they’re planning something even bigger.
What’s New?
In recent news, Apple is thinking about releasing a new product. This device being a foldable iPhone. This idea has been in the works since 2018. The company states “Apple has apparently been mulling the notion of foldable for quite some time. The root of these efforts could date back to 2018.”
This also happened to be a year after Samsung launched their foldable phone, the Galaxy Fold. Samsung is one of Apple’s biggest competitors when it comes to mobile technology, along with other Android companies. However, Samsung also had their fair share of technical issues, learning the hard way.
Now initially the development of the foldable phone was on the back burner.

Production Setbacks
The reason why the iPhone foldable was held back is because of the iPhone 15 and Vision Pro release. As well as the iPad’s pending release. However, with the Vision Pro coming out, people regret buying it. (We’ll get into more of that later).
The company has a lot of competition in their midst. Samsung have foldable phones, Google Pixel as well.
Even with the prototyping in its early stages.
There’s also updates on the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. The 2024 iPad Pro models will be released next month.

Some rumours suggest a larger foldable iPad might come before the iPhone.

What’s new coming to the foldable phone.
It’s speculated to be the same size as the iPad Mini.
Hopefully, the iPhone Fold come’s out 2025 or maybe 2026. However, Apple, could cancel the project if the device does not meet their standards. If the phone doesn’t come out right, this means the company’s mass production plans for 2024 or 2025 are not going be release.
Due to technical issues. According to the latest report from Alpha Biz, Apple is changing the launch time frame of its first foldable iPhone from the last quarter of 2026 to the first quarter of 2027.
Specs of the Vision Pro
The company doesn’t think that the Vision Pro sold out fast enough. Usually, the word Pro in its name is a big hint that a less Pro version will be coming down the line. Hopefully, the company releases a cheaper Vision Pro in 2025. In a June 2023 newsletter, he wrote that a “cheaper” version of the Vision Pro is in development.
