Plane Crash
It has been reported by police that a small jet crashed in Virginia Sunday, killing all four adults and one teenager on board. The Federal Aviation Administration said that the twin-engine IAI Astra 1125 crashed near Ingalls Field Airport in Hot Springs, Virginia, around 3 p.m. ET, on March 11, 2024.
Additionally, Police identified the plane as a private jet, which fell into the trees in the 6200 block of Airport Rd. The authorities reported it caught flames on impact.
Devastating Tragedy

Furthermore, family and friends state that the reason the persons on board were inside that plane was to attend an event at the Homestead Resort in Hot Springs. Hot Springs is located at the Virginia-West Virginia border, about 160 miles northwest of Richmond. Unfortunately, it was said that the plane was short on its approach to the runway. Also, as it fell, it struck the trees and then the hillside.
In addition, the plane crash killed all five individuals in the scene including the pilot as previously mentioned. The remains of the people have been delivered to the Virginia Office of the Medical Examiner for definite identification.
On Going Investigation
Moreover, the Bath County Sheriff’s Office said that at 2:58 p.m., its 911 Center got a call regarding a crash at Ingalls Field Airport in Hot Springs, Virginia. At the time the call was made the sheriff’s department, Virginia State police, and Hot Springs Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.
Despite the speed with which the police responded, an investigation is still underway. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has stated that it is working with the National Transportation Safety Board to investigate the causes of the incident. However, the probe is being led by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
Lastly, more information is hoped to be obtained along the way. In order to bringing solace to the victims’ families and providing complete closure.
