Suspect of Atrocious Crimes in New Jersey and Pennsylvania

A suspect accused of fatally shooting three family members in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on Saturday has now been detained after being hidden inside a home in New Jersey. According to police, they said that he was hiding at a house on the 100 block of Phillips Avenue in Trenton. However, he slipped out from officer and was later captured at 5:30 p.m. at a different located, there, he surrendered peacefully. In fact, he was spotted walking down a street nearby and that is how officials got a hold of him.

This particular suspect is known as Andre Gordon, he is a 26 year old man. Now, regarding the case, before he tried to flee, he committed very concerning crimes. Thus, the most concerning aspect of this case is that he committed his gruesome crimes within his own family. According to NBC Philadelphia, “The string of violent acts that took place yesterday, allegedly at the hands of a single armed individual, alarmed and terrorized communities in Bucks and Mercer counties.”

Moreover, the alleged main crimes that Gordon took action in was to heartlessly fatally shoot his 52 year old step mother, Karen Gordon, his 13 year old sister, Kera Gordon and the 25 year old mother of his two children, Taylor Daniel, Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn, stated. Now, because of this atrocity and a list of other crimes, this suspect poses a number of crimes in Pennsylvania. However, regarding his crimes, this state is not it. On Sunday, officials mentioned some of the crimes that Gordon has been held accountable for. They claimed that he’s been charged with the following:

  • First-degree carjacking.
  • Second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
  • Second-degree unlawful possession of an assault firearm.
  • Third-degree unlawful possession of a firearm without serial number.
  • Third-degree receiving ammunition magazines.
  • Fourth-degree of hollow-point ammunition.

Yet, this crimes are only the first ones that he committed, in other words, these charges are incidents that originate in New Jersey. That being said, Gordon has also been charged with murder, aggravated assault, burglary and other offenses in Pennsylvania. Overall, he is now facing the law in two different states.

Facts Regarding the Crimes in the Case of Andre Gordon

Moreover, about the suspect that poses a number of crimes in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Gordon. According to police he was presumed to be homeless at the time of his crimes. Also something very scary about this case is that he was not just aiming at his close relatives to murder, he was recklessly looking for anyone to murder. Not to mention, according to police, at the first residence, three people hid from him successfully despite him looking for them in the house.

On the other hand, at the second residence, there were four people. Unfortunately, here, Gordon hit Daniel’s mother with the gun and this ultimately caused her to be hospitalized. Moreover, police claim that Gordon was driving a stolen car that he carjacked when he arrived at the two homes in Pennsylvania to commit his shootings. In fact, according to Falls Township Police Chief, Nelson Whitney stated that he used an AR-15 style assault rifle for his shootings. Fast forward, after this he carjacked another car at gun point in Morrisville, Pennsylvania. With this car Gordon, then proceeded to cross state lines to New Jersey.

Held Accountable

Overall, his violence spree began with the stole car in Trenton, New Jersey and then drove it to Falls Township, Pennsylvania. All of this occurred on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Now, because of this incident, Bucks County placed a shelter in place order for several hours. This order was for residents to be safe. This also caused the County to cancel the St. Patrick’s Day parade and to close an amusement park and even some local businesses in Trenton, according to officials. Fortunately, he is being withheld and now taking responsibility for his actions.

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin said in a statement, “I am grateful to all the brave law enforcement officers who mobilized in the face of grave danger and helped ensure this incident ended without further harm. We will pursue justice for the victims and hold the defendant accountable for his reprehensible actions.”
