What Happened in Russia
In Russia, there was an incredibly deadly shooting that occurred. A mass tragedy, that ended up taking the lives of hundreds of concertgoers. Furthermore, there has been a lot of criticism that has been issued to security at this concert hall. Many are angry that they did not do enough to prevent this attack, and ensuring no lives were taken as a result.
There were 4 suspects in this brutal shooting, and they are all appearing before the Russian court. ISIS has already confirmed that they were the reason the massacre had occurred. In total, there were at least 139 people that were killed in this attack, what many Russians consider a “terrorist attack.”
Suspects Appear Before the Court
The four suspects that were the cause behind this massacre are appearing in court, receiving their sentences. As of the court, each suspect is receiving the maximum punishment, which in this case if life in prison. There were multiple videos that were taken by the suspects, showing the torture they inflicted upon the victims of this attack.
These videos were incredibly graphic in every form. It truly is sad to see how these innocent civilians were tortured before their death, in such a brutal manner. “The suspects, who are from the former Soviet republic of Tajikistan but worked in Russia on temporary or expired visas, were named by Moscow City Court as Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, Saidakrami Rachabalizoda, Shamsidin Fariduni and Mukhammadsobir Faizov,” according to CNN News. Many agree that more could have potentially been done to prevent this attack from occurring, but it was already too late.

The Future of This Incident
This should have never happened, and it truly is saddening for Russia to have experienced such a catastrophe. However, it is safe to say that more safety measures will be put in place to ensure incidents of this nature do not happen in the future.
However, there is going to be a long period of mourning and grievance for the lives that were lost in this terrible attack. The possibility for the death penalty for the suspects is being brought up as well by the Russian government.
