Recently, it has come to light that the museum of Science and Industry will get a brand new name. This change will happen because of a millionaire who donated a generous amount of money to this museum. Therefore, to show gratitude they have decided to change their name to honor this donor.
Big Change Coming To a Loved Museum
One of Chicago’s most popular museum will be getting a fresh new name by next week. It will also have new exhibits as well as a new logo. They had posted on social media recently about them getting a “fresh new identity”. This new identity will be official by this upcoming Monday. The new name has also been made public. On Monday they will officially be named the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry.

While this name change is happening now, the plans to have it changed have been rumored since 2019. This is because that is the year that billionaire Ken Griffin donated approximately 125 million dollars to this museum. According to them, this is the largest gift they have received in history which is why they wanted to show their gratitude. This generous gift will be used to create new exhibits for people to enjoy.
An Amazing Change for The People
Furthermore, the new and upcoming exhibits and few renovations have been made public. Firstly, the Henry Crown Space Center will be getting a renovation. The upcoming premiere for the new exhibition will offer a one of a kind digital space that will have guests experience the power of music. There will also be a new film experience named “Superhuman Body: World of Medical Marvels”. This film will dig deep into the stories of medical advancements throughout history.
Additionally, the museum is now offering free admission this Sunday in honor of the new name change. Guests will have the opportunity to experience the brand new exhibits. For anyone that would like to visit it will be open from 9:30 am to 4 pm located at 5700 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive .
