Apple Technology
It seems that every year Apple comes out with something new to amaze consumers. Additionally, they improve the quality of the technology that they release. They take into consideration feed back that they receive from consumers, and try their best to make it better.
However, besides the new iPhone 15, Apple has delved into something new, something they have not done since 2015 after creating the Apple Watch. They have done something that may change the gaming industry in a way not seen before. They have invented a new VR set, something they tried in the past but did not necessarily succeed with. The hope is for a new outcome this year.
What Is This New VR Set?
This new VR set is something of the future. It has a great and comfortable design, and it seems to be glasses-friendly. It is not necessarily like the Meta Quest VR set, that seems to be designed specifically for gaming. This VR set can be used for other things, such as facetime, texting and many more!
Therefore, this is why this is a very highly anticipated VR set. Additionally, those that have glasses do not need to wear their glasses when they have this VR set on. These VR sets have prescription lens that are inserted into them. “The company also said that prescription lens inserts for the Vision Pro would cost $149, and that the headset would have 256 GB of storage,” according to CNBC News.
This is incredibly news, especially for those that have prescription glasses. They would not be needed, and the VR set could be worn comfortably.
The Cost of This Headset
The VR set coming with prescription lens is very good news. However, the cost of this VR set is, as anticipated, very high. It may be something that is not accessible to the average consumer of Apple. “Retailing for $3,499, the mixed-reality headset is aimed at bringing “spatial computing” to the forefront of the market,” according to Fox 9 News. Therefore, that is a pretty hefty price.
However, the features that come built into this VR set are definitely reflective of the price of this headset. The futuristic technology that has been inputted into this VR set, can certainly explain why this Apple product costs so much. However, many wonder when this headset will be released. Apple says this will be released on Feb. 2, 2024, with preorders available starting Jan. 19, 2024. It is right around the corner.

What Are Some Of The Features of this Apple VR Set?
There are many features that come along with this VR set, some of them not many would begin to think about. “Aside from those visionOS-enhanced experiences, Apple’s release talks up Vision Pro’s support for 2D productivity apps, including “Fantastical, Freeform, JigSpace, apps from Microsoft 365, and Slack.”
Vision Pro users can also view streaming services like Apple TV+, Disney+, and Max, which can be viewed “on a screen that feels 100 feet wide with support for HDR content” or play more than 250 Apple Arcade titles on the device,” according to ARSTechnica. Not only can these features be accessed, but gaming can also be done with this VR set, and can be experienced on a whole different level with such updated technology.
The Future of Technology is Here
With this new piece of technology, this definitely sets the tone for what other companies may build to challenge Apple. Many are certainly excited for this new release, as it is about time Apple tried a different angle, with a hope for major success.
However, they predict that in the beginning sales may be low and profit as well, but as time goes on, they hope for greater success in the future.
