The Leading Events
Earlier Tuesday, a ship crashed into the Baltimore bridge causing it to cave in, and send multiple vehicles to fall. However, officials have stated that the ship called a “Mayday” before crashing. The unfortunate events started when the ship lost power, calling the mayday hopefully officials could stop enough cars in time.
Sadly, this trick had failed and multiple vehicles ended up tumbling into the water, causing 6 unknown whereabouts. The reports are saying that the unaccounted-for people were construction workers who were fixing potholes on the bridge.
The Next Process
The Baltimore Bridge has tens of thousands of people traveling on it daily. However, it can take years to fix a collapsed bridge. Although, it is extremely difficult to say exactly how long it will take to rebuild. However, Gov. Wes Moore of Maryland called the reconstruction a “long-term build.” Adding on to that, the authorities are more focused on finding those who have not been accounted for than the rebuild at this time.
Rescuers pulled out two survivors, one of whom was hospitalized, and hunted for more in the Patapsco River after huge metal spans of the 1.6-mile, Francis Scott Key Bridge creased into the water around 1:30 a.m. “By being able to stop cars from coming over the bridge, these people are heroes. They saved lives last night,” Maryland Governor Wes Moore said at a briefing.
Along with stating that the bridge was completely up to code, and officials saying that there is no foul play being seen.

Authorities are saying they still have no clue who may have died during the Baltimore Bridge collapse when the ship had accidentally crashed into it. “It’s devastating,” said 59-year-old Kathy Carducci, who was out walking with her 11-year-old beagle. “I have so many pictures of the bridge. Many times, we walk around and I’ll just take a picture of the bridge. It’s iconic Baltimore.”
As much as the ship crashing into the Baltimore Bridge may have been an accident. It has always been seen as this 185-foot beautiful structure, but now it is gone. Along with that, many people grieving from losses they may have had during this event or just seeing loved ones in the hospital.
As it may be many people may think the ship that crashed into the Baltimore Bridge caused it to collapse, not an accident. Officials have already stated they have not seen any foul play, but there will be a pending investigation.
