Holidays Around The Corner
The most beloved holiday is right around the corner, and many are getting excited. Christmas is the best time for families to come together, and reminisce not only about the year that has passed, but for the year to come. Christmas is the favorite for millions of people worldwide. Getting gifts, putting up the Christmas tree, putting up the Christmas lights, is a joy for many families. Additionally, there are many things to look forward to, such as the CTA Holiday Train, as well as the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train. However, many people continue to wonder when these trains are going to make their way across the city.
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train
This train in particular is responsible for traveling across North America, making several stops along the way. This is such a beloved tradition across North America, and many cannot wait for it to occur once again. “Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train, which travels railroads across North America with a bright light display, live music and Santa Claus himself, kicks off its 2023 holiday schedule Tuesday, beginning with stops in Maine,” according to NBC 5 News. Not only does the Canadian Pacific provide happiness for adults and children alike, but it also helps with food banks across the entire continent.
There are many food banks that do not receive the amount of recognition that they deserve. Therefore, this Canadian Holiday train is able to raise awareness, and to help support these food banks in whatever way they can. “The 2023 CPKC Holiday Train tours Canada and the United States Nov. 20 through Dec. 19, raising money, food and awareness for the important work that food banks do in their communities,” according to CPKC News. Therefore, there is a huge positive message that this train spreads, and it will be arriving to Chicago very soon.

Charities and Musicians
Not only does this train contribute to food banks across the entire continent, it also contributes to charities as well. Additionally, aboard the train are a bunch of artists performing concerts for the people that watch the holiday train. “Traveling across Canada and the United States it brings professional musicians to numerous destinations providing free concerts from the train’s brightly decorated stage and making donations to local charities along the way,” according to Secret Chicago. Therefore, it is obvious that this train provides a lot of benefits across the entire continent.
When Is It Arriving?
It is arriving between the last week of November, and the first week of December. There are several areas that are around Chicago where this train will be seen on these days. Therefore, many will get a chance to see this train. The dates are as follows:
- Nov. 25 – Bensenville
- Nov. 26 – Pingee Grove
- Nov. 26 – Byron
- Dec. 3 – Gurnee
Therefore, it is imperative to plan around the busy schedule, and get a chance to witness this beautiful train.
Future of the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train
Many seem to underappreciate the actual good that this train contributes to. The fact that it contributes to several charities across the continent, as well as food banks is a true act of kindness. Along with bringing a beautiful scenery, with flashing lights and music, it brings hope to those that need it. Therefore, there is a hope that more funding is able to be made accessible for this train, that way they can continue to contribute more and more to those in need. It is also a hope that this train continues to be an annual tradition, as many people are constantly excited to see it. Therefore, it is almost that time to be able to see this magnificent train once again.
