Illinois cannabis dealers sold $140 million worth of marijuana in July, the highest monthly total to this point in 2023.

July’s total was the second-highest monthly sales total in Illinois history. State retailers sold $143.9 million in December 2022 and sales totaled $1.5 billion.
In the month of July, 3.5 million weed products were sold, the largest in a single month since the state launched its legal recreational cannabis program in 2020. According to governmental figures, 3.4 million goods were sold in December 2022.
The majority of cannabis sales, totaling $104.3 million, were two citizens of the state. According to sales numbers from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, out-of-state clients spent $35.6 million on products.
