The voice feature is powered by a newer text-to-speech model. This model can create human-like voices from text within seconds. OpenAI said they have teamed with five voice actors to create different voices.
Spotify also partnered with OpenAI to introduce a feature for podcasters. this allows them to sample their voices and translate shows into French, Spanish, or German. While translating it will keep the podcaster’s original voice.
This new system also allows users to insert a picture and ask the app for assistance. For instance, users can insert images of their refrigerator and ask “What’s for dinner?” The system will analyze and provide users with the ingredients needed and how to make a meal.
