Collins Academy Warriors blew out the Tilden Blue Devils Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at Rockne Stadium. Warriors Coach Williams shared how the team was charged up to play Tilden in their Homecoming game. Tilden’s Coach Ross brought the Blue Devils into this game on a two-game losing streak after being on a four-game winning streak.
Chicago Leader reporter Daylantie Jasper asked Coach Ross how he felt his team was going to fare today against the Collins Warriors. He responded:
I don’t know what Collins has, but we’re gonna line up between the hash marks and see what happens.

The Warriors stormed Tilden with a vicious running attack as QB Keontay Fox, and RB Shaun Goss pounded the ball down the Blue Devils throat for two quarters. The Warrior defense held Tilden scoreless during the first half. They provided a minor offense by sacking Tilden quarterback Isiah Barnes in his end-zone as a safety.
Tilden could not get anything going offensively, and their defense was very shaky when it came to stopping the Warriors rushing attack. The half ended with the Warriors on top 22-0.
During halftime, Collins Royal Court was presented by their very own principal LaKenya Sanders-Sharpe. The court marched around the Rockne Stadium in their all-black attire and crowns.
After a speech of encouragement by the Blue Devil’s Coach Ross, Tilden came out in the third quarter with a renewed spirit as quarterback Isiah Barnes launched a 40-yard pass to WR Ryan Cruz for an early third-quarter score. Tilden’s two-point conversion was successful, bringing Collins’ lead to twelve points.
The Warriors scored another rushing touchdown by RB Shaun Goss as they rolled to a Homecoming victory over the Blue Devils with the final score of 28-8.
Collins’ last regular-season game will be October 16 against Gage Park at Stagg Stadium at 4:00 p.m. Tilden’s next game will be against Kelly on October 15, at 3:45 p.m.
