CPS Annual Reports

Chicago Public Schools conducts reports every single year in order to determine how they did throughout the year. These reports can range with the data that they include. This can include monetary information, crime within the CPS organization, and many more.

Therefore, as the year 2023 has ended, there has been a new report that has been filed by CPS. However, this one is different, as there is a high amount of shocking results within this report. The results that are included in this report also further the fact that there needs to be change.

What Are The Results Looking Like?

The results are not looking favorable for CPS in any way, shape or form. This annual report included criminal acts from adults to children, CPS officials stealing money, and many more criminal acts. To list some of the criminal acts, one is an assistant principal allegedly stealing $275,000.

Furthermore, there are eight cases of adult-on-student sexual assaults, as well as technology equipment that has been stolen. However, despite all that has been discovered about CPS, it seems that the consequences are very light for those that commit these criminal acts. If the consequences continue to be light, more of this may occur as a result.

What Has CPS Declared About This Result?

CPS has not said much in regards to the results that have been made public as of recently. However, they have mentioned how they lost around $23 million because of equipment being stolen from their schools, or lost.

The Inspector General of CPS Will Fletcher has outlined all of the aforementioned acts, as well as more than $23 million considered missing because of the stolen or lost equipment. The Inspector General also was outlining the potential acts of fraud and waste. This is something that needs to be worked on by CPS as a whole.

Tracking Devices for CPS

The Inspector General also outlined a very critical piece of information that should certainly be implemented in schools across the country. There are not many ways to track the amount of inventory that is purchased by CPS, and therefore should be considered for the new fiscal year. If there were better ways to track inventory, there would certainly be a better outcome for the schools. Additionally, CPS would spend less money on devices, as they already have that head count of the devices they already own.

As aforementioned, there are many ways that CPS can make this better, that way a large amount of money is not spent, and essentially wasted. Additionally, the fact that there are so many devices that are being stolen, also says that there needs to be a better security measure put in place to reduce the amount of theft in these schools. Better security measures would bring more profit for CPS themselves, as well as more guaranteed safety for the children that go to school every day.

The Future of CPS, and Their Annual Reports

It is obvious that the year 2023 was not the best when it comes to profit margins. However, the fact that the Inspector General is taking a stand, and addressing the obvious issues that need to be fixed, may be a great starting point for this year.

Moreover, being able to introduce better security measures to prevent theft should also be a good starting point for the next year. Furthermore, the allegations of sexual assault on students needs to be addressed, and prevented in the future. Parents and students alike deserve the peace of mind, and students deserve a fulfilling, and safe education.
