The National Basketball Association (NBA) has announced a major three team trade. A trade that moves star guards and multiple pick swaps. Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks changes the Eastern Conference in a way that most fans wouldn’t agree with. The Portland Trail Blazers, Bucks, and Phoenix Suns came together in a way to fill some missing gaps in their lineups for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Since the offseason began the top 75 all-star expressed his frustrations. The frustrations of going through yet another rebuild process. For years NBA fans questioned the how strong his loyalty was to the city of Portland spending over eleven seasons with the organization. After turning 33 years old before, entering his 12th season it leaves to be seen on how many years he has left before eyeing retirement.
Bucks seek Lillard for Championship Aspirations
Holiday is heading to Portland in the three team trade. He hopes to be traded again to a championship contender before the season begins. Holiday even managed to win a NBA Championship his first year with the team. This comes almost 50 years after the organization’s first championship run with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robinson.

Lillard to the Bucks gives better shooting and plays a bit of reliever for All-stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton next season. Jrue Holiday thrived in the role Dame will be replacing him in his years with the team from 2021-23. The change of scenery with the Bucks may lead to the organization becoming three time NBA Champions.
Once the season begins it will be interesting to see if this trade was a good decision for all parties. The rest of the trade details are below giving intel to who the Suns and Portland received for trading Dame.
Portland will receive Deandre Ayton, Jrue Holiday, Toumani Camara, Bucks 2029 first-round (Unprotected) and Pick swaps in 2028 and 2030 (unprotected).
The Suns will receive players Jusef Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nazir Little, and Keon Johnson.
Bucks will only receive Damian Lillard from the trade.
