In addition to a civil action, Donald Trump is facing four criminal accusations.
Following the issuance of a gag order this week, Trump once again attacked the judge and his daughter on his social media network, on March. Allegedly, adult film star Stormy Daniels received hush money payments during his presidential campaign. Merchan handled the Manhattan case involving Trump. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has refuted these allegations numerous times. On April 15, the trial for the matter was scheduled to take place in New York.
The Daughter
“Judge Juan Merchan is totally compromised and should be dismissed from this TRUMP Non-Case immediately,” the former president said in a post. His daughter Loren, a “rabid” Donald Trump detractor, acknowledged talking to her father about the former president.
Donald Trump attacks the judge’s daughter by saying “She works for Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, Kamala Harris, Crooked Biden, and other radical leftists who fundraise off the ‘Biden Indictments,’ including this Witch Hunt. Which her father ‘presides’ over, a TOTAL Conflict, and who campaign on ‘Getting Trump.’ All Federal Agencies, including ‘Elections,’ refused to bring this case, including former D.A. Cy Vance,” Trump declared.
Donald Trump’s Post
According to a tweet from Donald Trump, Judge Merchan should be removed from the Trump Non-Case due to reported compromises. His daughter, Loren, is a “Rabid Trump Hater, who has admitted to having conversations with her father about me, and yet he gagged me.”
“Virtually every Legal Scholar says it’s not a case, has never been brought before, it’s not criminal, and it shouldn’t exist except for the fact that we have a Biased, Conflicted, and Corrupt Judge and D.A. in charge,” Trump included in a Thursday supplementary post to Truth Social. Furthermore, he mentioned to “throw out this absurd Non-Case and RESTORE GREATNESS TO THE AMERICAN JUSTICE SYSTEM!”
“It is as if Donald Trump is daring the Judge to sanction him so Trump can achieve greater martyrdom with his fervent supporters,” Palm Beach State Attorney Dave Aronberg told Newsweek on Thursday. There is also a chance that Trump intends to go to fight with Judge Merchan, which would mean additional challenges to his recusal and disqualification and thus more delays. It is not going to work.
False Information?
Donald Trump assails the daughter of the judge again. According to Trump, Loren Merchan has served on campaigns for President Joe Biden and other Democrats. He recently tweeted a picture on social media that appeared to show her “obvious goal” of getting her father put in jail. The state court system in New York issued a statement refuting the notion that Loren Merchan no longer owned the social media account Trump was referring to.
After she removed it almost a year ago, it seems that someone else has taken control of it, according to court spokesperson Al Baker.
The Twitter account that she deleted on X “is not related to with her email address. Nor has she shared content under that screen name since she deactivated the account.” Instead, it “symbolizes the reconstruction of an account that she long since abandoned in April of last year,” according to Baker.
Loren Merchan
In previous years, Loren Merchan’s consulting business had included a link to that account in its social media posts. However, as of right now, the account is private. The account has no posts visible, and only indicates that it joined the site in April 2023. Baker had claimed to have deleted it. On X, usernames that are erased can be hijacked by other users.
Prosecutors had sought a gag order. Which prevents Trump from speaking publicly about prospective witnesses and jurors in the hush-money case. Which includes Stormy Daniels, a porn star, and Michael Cohen, his former attorney, or ordering others to do so. Additionally, it forbids any remarks intended to intimidate or cause distress to the prosecution team, court employees, or their families.
It doesn’t forbid remarks against Merchan or his family. Neither does it forbid criticism of Alvin Bragg. He is the Democrat elected to the Manhattan district attorney’s office, who is leading Donald Trump’s prosecution.
