Devon Werkheiser Gives an Apology
Devon Werkheiser had handed out some apologies to Drake Bell and a few other Nickelodeon actors on Tuesday, after he received some criticism on joking about the ‘HIghlighting alleged abuse’ documentary. Werkheiser had been found to mock Bell on his TikTok livestream. This actor starred in “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.”
“Sorry, we should not joke about this,” Werkheiser continued. “We really shouldn’t. … Listen, our set wasn’t like that. And no, it’s f—— awful. The Drake Bell s—, that’s just crazy to hear.” Werkheiser then said he uses humor to process things.
Who is Drake Bell?
Drake Bell is most commonly known as a Nickelodeon actor, who played on “Drake and Josh,” “ICarly,” “All That,” and many more shows and movies. Bell was born on June 27, 1986, in Newport Beach California, and then had begun his acting career in the early 1990’s by the age of five.
Along with his acting career, he started a career in music in the early 2000’s. Furthermore, he co-wrote and performed the theme song for the show “Drake and Josh.” As well as, independently releasing a debut album in 2005. Following quite a few other successful turnouts. In 2021, Bell pleaded guilty to “attempted endangering [of] children and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles”
The Abuse Allegations Against Nickelodeon
Following the release of “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” a series that details allegations made against him, Dan Schneider posted an apology video online. He had made a video on his YouTube channel stating that the interviews are “embarrassing,” and the he owes “a pretty strong apology.”
The allegations against him include:
- Playing favorites.
- Making inappropriate comments to and about the women on set.
- Along with, placing young actresses into overly sexual content.
- Even asking someone to do something inappropriate.
Obviously, these allegations have caused a lot of uproar and interviews through some former casts. As well as there being many apologies handed out; These include, some from those who are being accused and some from people who are mocking the situation.
“It was wrong that I ever put anybody in that position,” Schneider said when talking about the massages. “I apologize to anybody that I ever put in that situation.”
More Allegations That Have Been Made
During the “Quiet on Set” series, Bell had made some allegations against Brian Peck. Coming forward as the John Doe in a child sex abuse case against dialogue coach Peck. The LA Police Department said that 43-year-old Brian Peck is being accused of molesting a child he was coaching at his house.
During the arrest, officials said the coaching was about a six month period, saying that the once unnamed child was Drake Bell. However, there had been a 16 month sentence given to Peck. Furthermore, he had also been forced to register as a sex offender. Bell was 15 at the time of the events leading to Peck’s sentence and registry, on the list. Following his release he was able to return to the entertainment work. Along with being able to resume working with minors on the sets.
“Dan has said himself that he was a tough boss to work for. If he could do things over again, he would act differently,” a spokesperson for Schneider said.
But let’s be clear, when Dan departed Nickelodeon, a full investigation was done and again. All that was found is that he was a challenging, tough and demanding person to work for and with, and nothing else.
Some of Devon Werkheiser’s Mockery of the Former Nickelodeon Star
“Daniel, we told you never to speak about that. Get back in your hole, Daniel, and give me your holes,” Werkheiser said in a jovial tone to Lee offscreen in a video reposted by Bell.
Sorry, we should not joke about this. We really shouldn’t. Our set wasn’t like that.
Lindsay Shaw and Daniel Curtis Lee had also appeared along with Werkheiser in the TikTok live. While they had also been involved in the mocking of these allegations. Bell responded on X Monday night, calling the trio, “Ned’s Declassless.”
This is wild…laugh it up guys…laugh it up.
He added, “‘Give me your h*les!!’ Really?!”
“I am not talking about this anymore,” Werkheiser said while laughing. “Guys, we can not joke like this, Jesus. Sometimes humor helps us move through things.” Supposedly, there had been a TikTok user that had questioned if the “trio” was in on the alleged abuse.
