Musk v Zuckerberg: A Match Between Billionaires
Elon Musk has challenged Mark Zuckerberg to a cage fight to which the Meta CEO responded “Send Me Location.” The Twitter owner then suggested the “Vegas Octagon.” A brawl between the two billionaires has sparked major attention across social media.
It is unclear if Musk was sincere in his cage fight request. However, Zuckerberg is 100% serious in his response, according to The Verge.
The 51-year-old Twitter owner also co-founded si companies including SpaceX, Tesla, and PayPal. Zuckerberg co-founded Facebook and its parent company Meta and is 39 years old. The Meta CEO has also been training for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Recently, Zuckerberg competed in a Jiu-Jitsu tournament and won a gold and silver medal.
Before the Reply
Prior to Zuckerberg agreeing to the match, Musk jested a bit, saying things like he hasn’t had any training other than lifting his children. He also said he has a “great move that I call ‘The Walrus.'” Then, he stated it was where he lies “on top of [his] opponent & do nothing.”
People on social media have been on board with watching the two duke it out in the ring. One person tweeted they’d “pay a decent amount to watch this.” Another person said they couldn’t “wait to see what kind of showdown this will be!”
Tate to Musk: ‘You Will Not Lose’
Even controversial social media celebrity, Andrew Tate, has joined in the conversation. On Twitter, Tate posted, “Meta banned me everywhere for telling the truth about vaccines. But now we can restore honour with a strike at the enemy clans leader. I will train you @elonmusk. You will not lose.”
A spokesperson for Meta told reporters that the “story speaks for itself.”
For those who don’t know, The Octagon is used for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bouts. It is an eight-sided fenced-in mat area. In 1993, the UFC was the first to feature such a configuration.
Musk’s Challenge Hyped Up Media
Musk has a history of making statements out of jest or just plain failing to follow through. Even with this challenge, Musk has made it seem as though he isn’t serious. Shortly after saying his “The Walrus” move he posted a bunch of memes and videos of walruses flopping around.
However, his eccentric character, mixed with the fact that Zuckerberg agreed, could make him follow through this time. Whether it does or not, it definitely has caused a stir over social media. And to think it all started because Meta said it was going to have the technology to rival Musk’s.
