Fentanyl and its Dangers to Society
A lot of people, unfortunately, do not understand that fentanyl is not just a regular drug. Fentanyl is incredibly dangerous and can pose a huge threat to society as a whole. It does not take much for it to become incredibly dangerous. Unfortunately, there are many people that mix it with other drugs, such as heroin and cocaine. The fact is, it can not be tasted or found if mixed with another drug.
However, it can be tested. Drugs have also impacted negatively on holidays such as Halloween, as kids have received drugs inside of candy, which is incredibly dangerous for them. Therefore, fentanyl is not a drug that should be taken whatsoever, unless medically prescribed.
Fentanyl Found In Luggage of 2 Detroit Men
These two men were taking a trip from Detroit to Chicago and were planning on returning when they were stopped and asked if their bags could be searched, to which they consented. However, they were stopped before they returned. Jamire Holingshed, age 26, and Robert Lewis, 24, both from Detroit, have been charged with the manufacture-delivery of more than 900 grams of fentanyl.
This amount of fentanyl is equivalent to more than 40 pounds of fentanyl. This is an incredibly large amount, and if not seized, could have been absolutely detrimental to the city of Chicago. Thankfully, these two men were apprehended and were immediately put behind bars.

These two men were sentenced to Cook County Jail. “A Cook County judge set bail for each individual at $1,555,500,” according to CBS News. If this fentanyl were not seized, no one really knows what they would have done with the fentanyl that they had.
Clearly, they had a plan as to what they were going to do with it. There is a hope that more fentanyl can be taken off the streets across the U.S., as it is an incredibly harmful drug no one should have access to.
