Fires Across The Entire Globe
There have been many places across the entire globe that have been suffering with wildfires, which has been increasingly worrisome. Canada has recently suffered an extreme wildfire, that is ongoing. These fires have contributed dramatically to global warming.
The United States has experienced extreme heat, reaching numbers never seen before. This can potentially be very dangerous, as it is unknown what the future of global warming can hold. Therefore, it is important that action be taken as soon as possible, to further deter global warming from escalating even more.
Greece Suffers Through Wildfires, Leaving Several Dead
Greece is now another victim of a horrifying fire that has left several people deceased. “Firefighters on Tuesday found the burnt bodies of 18 people believed to have been migrants who had crossed the Turkish border into an area of northeastern Greece where wildfires have raged for days,” according to AP News.
It is unknown how many more people are yet to be found. It is imperative that these fires are put to an end as soon as possible. However, it is very difficult to control a fire of this magnitude.
There have been many saying that this feels like they are in a war. Therefore, this has led to several evacuations, and the fires continue to rage on without any signs of stopping.
“Two hundred patients were evacuated from two hospitals in the town on Tuesday. An Alexandroupolis Hospital Nurse, Nikos Gioktsidis, compared the situation to war, telling Reuters, ‘I’ve been working for 27 years, I’ve never seen anything like this. It’s like war conditions, really,'” according to CNN News. As demonstrated, these conditions are terrifying.
However, combating these fires seems to not work, as these fires continue to spread, and rapidly.
The Future of Global Warming and These Fires
As scary as this may seem, there is always time to turn things around. What is needed is a global effort to reduce global warming and climate change. Therefore, many hope that these fires may settle down and not take any more lives.
