Severe Weather Season
Severe weather has been circling the entire globe for much of April and May and have wreaked havoc in many areas. Tornadoes, wildfires, hurricanes and more have been damaging cities and tearing families apart. Furthermore, there have been several floods that have been seen around the globe. Afghanistan has with damaging floods, that have killed hundreds of civilians and even children.
There is a hope that they receive the necessary resources to help people get out of these terrifying situations safely. There is also a hope that the severe weather stops long enough for people to recuperate and help each other.
Floods in Afghanistan
As aforementioned, Afghanistan has suffered very damaging floods that have killed hundreds of people including children and have injured many more. “In the past few days, at least 300 people have been killed in flooding in 18 districts across at least three provinces in northern Afghanistan, according to the United Nations’ World Food Programme (WFP), with at least 200 injured,” according to CNN News. It is obvious that they need resources especially after something of this nature. If they do not receive these resources, more people will continue to suffer as a result.

What started off as a gentle rain turned into a severe situation within a matter of hours. In a place like this, rain is already very rare. As a result, when it started getting heavier, people began to seek shelter in hills and mountains, to which many were unsuccessful and were caught in the floodwaters.
The Future of This Event
There is a hope that the people that are still stranded can get the help they need to survive. There is also a hope that the death toll does not continue to increase as time goes on. Rescue teams are hard at work searching for people to rescue, and to ensure their safety.
There are also many families that are absolutely horrified at the fact that this happened. It is safe to say that people will take into consideration more safety measure to prepare in case something like this happens again. Many also hope to be reunited once the search comes to an end.
