Crime Incident in Florida
Minors having guns under their power is becoming more and more common. This incident occurred in the afternoon, on October 2, in Apopka, Florida. It unfolded right after the boys were done with their American football practice, after that, the young boy of just 11 years old shot two 13-year-olds. This issue of minors having access to guns can be due to a variety of different factors, for instance:
- Parents not supervising the gun or their children appropriately.
- The child being through trauma, using a gun ultimately sees it as an option to solve their problems.
- Or it can be because somehow the child had easy access to obtain it like the parents not safely securing it.
As of now, the identities of all the boys involved have remained protected for legal purposes. This information will not be released because the people involved are all underage.

One of the victims was injured in the arm and the other was injured in the torso. This happened because of an altercation that they had amongst each other. It was because of a bag of chips, this is how everything started and went downhill. After the argument, it led to a physical fight. Which, ultimately led to the 11-year-old shooting the victims.
However, officers have linked this incident to the boy having experienced bullying. They think that because he has experienced bullying, this was why he probably thought that using the gun was going to “solve” his problems, at that moment.
The Aftermath of this Crime Case
Unfortunately, the young boy who committed this shooting is being prosecuted and is criminally charged with attempted homicide. Nonetheless, the shooter’s mother will also be charged because she didn’t secure the firearm appropriately. In order for the child to not have access to it.
The victims are now listed in stable condition, even after the one hit in the torso had to go under surgery. Also since more students witnessed this horrific scene, the school is offering counseling services for everyone who was affected by this shocking crime, to essentially recover from this.
