Gas Prices As We Know Them
Gas prices have steadily been increasing as inflation also increases along with it. It seems that people do not seem to catch a break when it comes to gas prices. People continue to be astounded by the prices, and continue to wonder when they will ever decrease.
Gas is a necessity, and not many people are able to afford gasoline, as it can get incredibly expensive per gallon. Additionally, it seems that major political leaders are not really doing anything to help decrease the amount that it costs to purchase gas. However, there are changes being noticed ahead of Thanksgiving.
People Are Catching a Break… Finally
Many are breathing a sigh of relief as there have been decreases to the gas prices before Thanksgiving. Even if it is not much, any decrease is always appreciated by everyone. “U.S. drivers can expect the cheapest gas prices on Thanksgiving day since 2020.
The national average for gallon of regular gas was about $3.31 on Monday, 25 cents cheaper than a month ago and 36 cents lower than the same period in 2022, according to AAA,” according to CNBC News. As aforementioned, this is not a very major difference, but anything is appreciated especially the way things are going.
Thanksgiving Gas Alleviation
Ahead of Thanksgiving, these gas prices decreasing is certainly something many are thankful for. Gas prices continue to be a huge issue for many families, as they can barely afford gas, let alone the other bills that have to be paid. Everything adds up, and unfortunately many families continue to suffer because of these many charges that continue to be incurred.
“Drivers this Thanksgiving can expect cheaper gas prices,” Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson, said in a statement last week. “Ten states now have sub $3 a gallon averages, and more will join soon. So savvy drivers will find savings on their way to a turkey dinner this year,” according to Newsweek.

Will They Continue to Decrease?
Many continue to wonder if the prices will continue to decrease even after Thanksgiving, or if they will just decrease for the holiday. However, the way things are looking, it seems that the gas prices will continue to decrease even after the holiday.
“A steep selloff in the oil market on Thursday, described by one Wall Street bank as a “bloodbath,” mean gas prices could keep sinking in the coming days,” according to CNN Business. However, If this is the case, many are going to be content with the way the year will end off.
The Future of Gas Prices
Gas Prices is something that has always been a major concern for people across the nation. The need for oil is very pricy for the United States, and it is very hard to acquire. However, the fact that these prices are finally beginning to decline, is a major breath of fresh air for people across the nation. Especially since it is before a major holiday, that millions celebrate. However, it seems that major politicians continue to advocate for lower gas prices, however it is very hard to achieve as inflation continues to influence these prices.
It is unclear if the prices will continue to decline starting January of 2024. However, if they are, it will certainly be a very beneficial piece of news especially starting off the new year. It is unclear if this is going to be the case for the next year, however, the way it is going, it seems it may certainly be that way. If it is not that way, it will certainly be very disappointing to the rest of the nation.
