Little Village Is Impacted by Gun Violence Once Again
Recently in Little Village, Southwest Side of Chicago, gun violence has struck the community again. Yesterday at around 2:00 a.m., a teenaged girl was impacted by a gun shot in the head. Immediately after the incident, she was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital.
Moreover, this incident occurred at the BP Gas Station located near 26th and Kildare Avenue. Furthermore, loud gunfire shots could be heard in the surveillance video from a nearby business but did not capture much. However, the BP gas station where it happened did capture more of what occurred in those unfortunate moments.

What Happened in this Incident?
According to officers, the vehicle where the victim was in was parked in the gas station. She was on the passenger seat, and it was then approach by a Black SUV where people inside started shooting. It was then when she was shot once in the head and then transported by paramedics to the hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
Though it’s still not clear of why this happened and if the victim was targeted, Area Four detectives are still investigating this crime case.
Concerns Arise in the Community
Unfortunately, the shooter that committed this crime still is not under custody. They fled the scene after what they did. The community is very concerned and is tired of these reoccurring occurrences and how frequent gun violence is getting in Little Village.
Gun violence is an issue that is getting out of control and people are concerned for their own safety, because of how reckless people are committing these atrocities.
