Home Price Drop
After months, specifically 131 months of elevated home prices there is finally, this year people have started to see a change. The end of a long time period of a price growth streak on homes. Thus presenting buyers who are interested in buying a home with the possible opportunity to finally buy their family’s dream home. Also, this price change has helped many people. It has put a stop to the high mortgage rates they have involved themselves in, where thinking or in the process of getting involved because of the elevated home prices.
How Much Have The Prices Dropped

As of right now, the sale fees in some houses have declined a significant amount of 0.2% which might not seem like a lot to many people but if people compared the prices it has brought the sale costs down by $700.
Since before February 2022, the existing price for a house was $363,700, and the drop in the prices brought it down to $363,000 as of this year. Furthermore, the percentage mentioned before is not the only amount that dropped this year there has also been a greater decline of 37% which might just be the greatest decline of them all since 2010. This might be a more eye-catching percentage and it might just interest you the most.
On the other hand, not only are house sale prices on the market dropping but you also have the chance to purchase a house for much less than its original sale price. Although, this is only possible if the house has been on the market for more than 60 days. If this applies you can get a deal of 10% less than its original list price.
Where Are This Price Dropped Happening
One might think these price sales have started to happen in almost all cities. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Only a small number of places have had their home prices decreased. This includes cities like:
- San Jose, California.
- San Francisco, California.
- Anaheim, California.
- Boise, Idaho.
Furthermore, these are some of the cities that have seen the most change. A couple of other cities have seen a difference and a decrease in prices. Before, they were also some of the most expensive places to buy a house. Meaning since the prices were so high they are the once seeing prices dropped the most.
Declined in Every City
One might be wondering how much have the prices dropped in every city mentioned above. The decline in San Jose, California is actually very surprising since this city is the most expensive place to buy a house. The median price of $1,577,500 was reduced to 5.8% from a year ago meaning that the prices in San Jose, at this moment have already dropped an incredible amount of 17%. The price reduction also increase this much because of the peak median price of $1,900,000 which was the price of last year as well. Furthermore, San Francisco also had a great decrease in price it when down 6.1% from the median price of $1,230,000. This price was also from a year ago.
Now from a year ago to today, the houses in San Francisco are down 21% from the median price of $1,550,000. In addition, there is also California which not to mentioned but California is almost at the top of being one of the most expensive cities to purchase a house.
Although because of this reason, its fee for a house has also incredibly decreased. From having a median price of $1,132,000 to decreasing an amount of 1.6% all of this in a span of a year. Los Angeles also another expensive city went down 1.3% from a median price of $829,100. As well as all the other cities mentioned above and numerous other cities that had a decline in their house prices. Finally putting an end to the years of high elevated prices.
Buy Your Home Now
We all know that buying a home is expensive especially if you wish to have a beautiful big home. And no matter what many might think that although prices have declined, houses are still too expensive. But as the years go by prices might increase again and you might lose the opportunity of buying the home you have now. In my opinion, you should take advantage of the prices being offered right now and buy yourself a new house.
