Last week, Nathaniel Huey Jr, the suspect in the murder of a family of four is found dead along with a very wounded woman due to a car fire.
A Destroyed Family
The victims were a family of four. Lives that were taken away unfairly. This crime was suspected to be done by 31 year old Nathaniel Huey Jr. On September 17, the police were alerted for a well-being check at around 8:43 p.m. around the 500 block of concord Ave. The reason for this check was because one of the family members failed to show up at work earlier that day with no notice whatsoever which was unusual. The family member tried to call the victims multiple times with no luck which raised concerns.
Once the officers arrived at the house they discovered the shocking truth behind it all. The police were in front of the bodies of two adults and two children no older than ten years old. They were all dead at the scene presumed from the gunshot wounds they had. The two adults were later identified to be Alberto Rolon, and Zoraida Bartolomei. No names have been stated for the children, however their ages have been confirmed. They were 7 and 9 years old. Both of the children were students at Robert C. Hill Elementary School.
A Cold Blooded Killer
Nathaniel Huey was presumed as a suspect since he had a relationship to the victims, but this was not further elaborated. Investigators have a reason to believe that Huey had motive and opportunity to kill the family, however they have not given any details on it.
Nathaniel Huey knew he was being looked for after the murder of the family so he left the scene of the crime. He was later found to be in Oklahoma with another woman who was later thought to be a suspect in the crime as well.

To the police’s surprise, the unidentified woman, was actually reported missing by her family members. Huey’s car was spotted somewhere in Catoosa, Oklahoma. This is estimated to be about 650 miles away from the crime scene. The car was said to be “unoccupied” by Oklahoma state police. So they kept the car under surveillance.
It was then when a man said to be Huey, and a woman entered the car and left. The police immediately attempted a traffic stop before they got away. However due to their speed they lost control and the car hit the concrete causing it to go on fire. The man died on impact while the woman was taken to the hospital. She then later died as well.
In Memory of The Lost ones
The murder of this family shook the suburban community of Chicago. “Although Huey is identified as a suspect, this is still an active and evolving investigation,” according to a statement from the police. A GoFundMe page was created for this family to help their relatives with the funeral expenses.
The couple was seen to be as hard working people and loving parents. They had just bought their first home for their family. “Their kids were the sweetest most innocent angels who could hug your worries away,” said the organizers of the GoFundMe page.
A very tragic story for the community but unfortunately, wont be the last one. According to a database made by The Associated Press and Northeastern University, this is the 35th mass killing in the U.S this year. A total of about 171 people have died during those killings. These number increase by the year. The community wishes for something to change so they can start feeling safe in their own home. This murder investigation is still open, and the people hope to get the justice this family deserves.
