Time Out’s New List
Time Out has just come out with a new list of the top 40 “coolest” places to live in the world! A Chicago neighborhood has made the list too! Hyde Park was named as of the the coolest places to live in 2023.
Time Out has stated that the list is based on local experts and thousands of reader surveys from across the globe. The factors also include community ventures, social ventures, and green spaces.
“Hyde Park exemplifies the best of Chicago, with the spirit of a small town, yet the many amenities of a bustling metropolis” described the outlet’s entry. The entry goes on to say that you can eat at some award-winning restaurants and enjoy an array of cuisine.

What qualifies as a “cool” city for Time Out consists of “great food and beverage options, cutting-edge culture, a lively nightlife scene, and a strong community atmosphere.”
The ranking for Hyde Park came at number 19 out of the world. While it was only one of four U.S. cities to make it to the list. Other U.S. cities were New Orleans, Los Angeles’ Arts District, and Fort Greene in New York, with them all ranking above Hyde Park. While Laureles in Medellín, Colombia made first place on the list.
What You Can Do In Hyde Park
Time Out gives a great description of the myriad of things you can do in Hyde Park. Firstly, some of the things included are going to the Museum of Science and Industry. Also as well as visiting Jackson Park where you can walk through 551 acres of greenery, including the Japanese garden. Secondly, you can also see art like Yoko Ono’s “Sky Landing” installation. Also, it goes on to say you can see Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural design on the house of Frederick C. Robie. Lastly, Time Out also suggests walking down 53rd Street and taking a gander, and shopping at the local boutiques and stores.
