The Israel-Palestine conflict has become one of the most controversial topics of modern discourse. On one side of the Gaza controversy, are people whose land is actively being taken from them, and the other side is being funded by the U.S.
The situation itself may seem like a typical conflict in the middle east. However, a ” typical” conflict in the middle east is one of the imperial nations funding right wing organizations to destabilize nations so that the imperial nation has access to the natural resources in the region.
The Situation
This situation is slightly different. The conflict between Israel and Palestine is a question of who owns the land that Israel has claimed as theirs. The nuance here is the fact that the Palestinians have been living there for generations, and are being slaughtered en masse. Since October 7, the sheer violence that Israel has subjected the Palestinians to, has been of almost unprecedented levels.
“More than 11,100 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since Oct. 7, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. While there is no breakdown between fighters and civilians, most of the dead are women and children,” according to the Washington Post.
Human Rights Abuses

Furthermore, there have been numerous cases of human rights abuse recorded in the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip is a tiny section of space where the majority of Palestinians live as a consequence of the Israeli forces occupying, what was previously Palestinian land. The situation is not dissimilar to the way that native American people, were boxed into corners while suffering genocide.
Food Water, and Shelter
Additionally, the Gaza Strip’s food, water, and energy supply were completely cut off. This meant that babies in incubators within hospitals died, along with everyone on life support. These are among many of the human rights abuses that those in Gaza are suffering under.
“Of those killed, about 41 percent are children and 25 percent are women. On average, one child is killed and two are injured every 10 minutes during the war, turning Gaza into a ‘graveyard for children’,” according to the UN Secretary-General. Furthermore, roughly 200 medics, 41 journalists,102 UN staff, along with frontline and human rights defenders, have been killed. “Dozens of families over five generations have been wiped out,” according to Tamil Guardian.
The Final Analysis
In the final analysis, it seems that The Palestinian people are trying their best to survive a genocide. The international community is horrified at what’s happening, and has become radicalized from seeing the bodies of dead children. The American government is sending $3 billion a year to Israel. This means that the pain, suffering, and blood of the Palestinian people is on the hands of Joe Biden and eh rest of the American government.
“How much economic aid does the US give Israel? Between 1951 and 2022, Israel has received $92.7 billion in US economic aid, adjusted for inflation — approximately 29% of its aid from all sources.” according to USA facts.
Accountability For American Politicians
Finally, all elected officials who voted to continue financial aid to Israel is responsible for the deaths in Palestine. Furthermore, if one stands against genocide, there is currently a boycott one can engage in. Starbucks was among the list of companies that have been officially sending money to Israel in support of the genocide.
As a response people from all over America have chosen not to drink “Starbucks” or buy any the company’s products. If one wants to support the movement of Palestinian existence, simply make a caramel frap at home instead of buying an expensive version of it at a Starbucks location.
