Conservatorship
Now that Jay Leno’s wife has been living with the disease called dementia, he has petitioned to manage all her financial and personal affairs. Jay is requesting to establish conservatorship so that he can accomplish a plan for his wife while she suffers with having dementia. With her having this disease she is unable to execute an estate plan. Jay Leno’s stated that, “for the sole purpose of filing a petition for substituted judgment on her behalf in order to ensure her desires concerning the disposition of her assets upon her death are realized.” Jay Leno and his wife Mavis Leno have been married for 44 years and counting.
Love Story
They met each other in 1976 at a comedy show and finally tied the knot in 1980. Before Mavis met Jay she never pictured herself walking down a aisle to get married. This might sound silly but his wife actually wants him to take over, she prefers him to be the guardian of the conservatorship.
Leno doesn’t want his wife to attend the court date in view of the fact that it might be damaging to her physical and mental health . After all this time Jay Leon’s wife has been diagnosed with this disease this is his first time communicating his wife’s health to the public. In 2022, while Jay was regaining strength from an injury his wife Mavis was with the late show host . Mavis was very anxious while her husband was going through recovery .
Mavis was always by her husband’s side . Jay & Mavis has a good relationship . Jay always speak highly of his wife. “I always tell guys when they meet a woman, ‘Marry your conscience. Marry someone who’s the person you wish you could be and it works out okay,'” Jay Leno said.
Mavis did not handle her finances throughout their relationship. He intends to include a revoke trust and will in his estate plan, which would provide for Mavis and her brother. Since the two have been together Jay Leno has always really handled the couple’s finances. Jay an Mavis Leno do not have any children at all . They then continued living their life as this process happens.
