Animal Abuse
It truly is saddening to see the animal abuse that is seen throughout the country, and the world. It is especially saddening to see political leaders and people of higher power, such as Kristi Noem, commit such horrendous acts, such as killing a dog. Despite it being unheard of in the U.S, it is still a very popular practice worldwide. There are states in the U.S that include dogs when it comes to laws protecting animals from being killed. Therefore, it would still be considered animal cruelty, and there could be some serious jail time involved for committing such act.
Kristi Noem Kills Her Dog
Despite it being decades ago, as was mentioned in her book “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward,” the act that she committed is still enraging the public immensely. Kristi Noem has tried to highlight the positive things that she has done as the Governor of South Dakota. However, people are looking past that, and focusing on what she has brought to life.
She has said that the reason she killed her dog was because her dog was ‘untrainable’ and acted like a ‘trained assassin.’ There were multiple instances where the dog tried to bite her. Additionally, her dog killed an entire family of chickens on the farm she lived on.

Therefore, there was a day where she had enough. She took the dog to a pasture, grabbed her gun, and proceeded with the act. Additionally, she mentioned this was not the first time she had to put down an animal. She had to put down a goat for being ferocious, like her dog. Furthermore, around three weeks ago, she had to put down 3 horses that were in the family for more than 25 years.
The Future of This Act
Despite these animals being as ferocious as they were, many agree that there were other possible alternatives she could have proceeded with. Despite this, she still intends on releasing this book to the public, which further delves into her personal life, and shows how she can be a better running-mate for Donald Trump in the upcoming election.
